Centsly is a personal-expense tracker for iPhone, built by a very small team in frustration with the state of money apps: loud, ad-ridden, pushy with upgrades, and almost always quietly mining your data to sell to someone else.
The shape of it
Help a regular person see where their money goes, set a budget they'll actually keep, and leave them alone the rest of the time.
No ads. No tracking pixels. No "personalised offers". Your data stays on your phone and, if you choose to sign in, on a managed Postgres database locked to your account. That's the whole promise.
What makes it different
Four principles, every decision.
Local-first
Every transaction, account, category, and budget lives in a SQLite database on your phone. The app works offline. Cloud sync mirrors your data to Supabase so your next device restores it, but the local copy is the source of truth, no spinners, no 'loading' states between you and your money.
Calm by design
Warm paper colours, editorial typography, one quiet accent. No neon gradients, no confetti when you log an expense, no streaks to guilt-trip you when you miss a day. The typography is Space Grotesk + Fraunces, a deliberate nod to how a thoughtful magazine would typeset a piece about your spending.
Honest pricing
The app is free. A Pro tier is on the roadmap with a flat monthly price ($2.99, or $24.99/year) that unlocks export, reminders, unlimited accounts, and long-range stats, never by degrading the free experience.
Private as default
Centsly collects exactly four things: your OAuth display name, your OAuth email, the Supabase user ID linked to your sign-in, and the transactions + balances + budgets you enter yourself. No location, no fingerprinting, no analytics SDKs. The privacy policy has the full list.

Technology
Thin stack. No surveillance.
Centsly is built with Flutter for iOS, a SQLite database on-device via sqflite, and Supabase on the backend for auth and sync. Sign-in flows use the native Apple and Google SDKs. Nothing else runs in the app at launch, no analytics, no crash reporters, no ads, no third-party tracking.
This website is honest about its own footprint too: static Next.js, no trackers, no cookies beyond what your browser sets by default for the TLS session.
